Any way to ease shingles pain ? taking an anti viral but pain is not getting relieved with advil etc?

If you are still on an antiviral it means you are in the initial stage (acute) stage of shingles. If you are not on prednisone you should be and this has been shown to reduce the pain. If the pain is bad you may need an opiate short term such as Percocet or Tylenol #3. Neurontin or Lyrica are mainly for the later pain that may come (postherpetic neuralgia) but may also help now. There also may be some topical lotions to use. You really need to speak to your doctor about the options.
