Do people still speak a little Gaelic in Cape breton, or is that a myth?

There are a small number of people that speak gaelic in CB. There are courses available to teach gaelic at St. Anne's college in CB and I think that they may offer them at UCCB. It's certainly not a myth, it's just not as prominant as it once was
