I need legal advice, I bought insurance?

I paid for automobile insurance, paid in full for one year of coverage, 2 months later, I asked if I could cancel, and get a prorated refund, I was told yes and so I did,.. after I cancled I was told that I could not get a refund of any kind, and that I could not be reinstated... WHAT'S NEXT HELP
